Hello everyone, I'm going out on a limb here but I hope this site becomes a valuable resouce and meeting point for dancers and friend around the UK.

...On a personal note, I've just moved to London from Scotland and hope to settle for a while. I've been a dancer, teacher and DJ and a pretty much addicted to Lindy Hop and the 'ole 8 beat rhythms :) .

Let's get some more introductions going! :)

Firstly, greetings from Belgium. I'm visiting my parents for a long weekend!

I've been living in London for four years (too many ;)) but have only been dancing for about 1.5. I'm half American, half Slovenian but grew up in Austria. When I'm not dancing, you'll probably find me skating, cycling, rock climbing, playing the piano, having friends over for board games or something of that sort!

Alright introductions so my name's Paul, I'm currently living in Maidenhead (west of London) but I'm originally from Middlesbrough (way oop north!) I moved down with my job (Software Engineer) six years ago. I've been dancing now for almost 3 years, a friend of mine got me into it & I love the music. When I'm not dancing I enjoy playing guitar, hanging out with friends, watching movies etc.

I've had a few injuries this year which have stopped me social dancing(must be getting old!) but I'm just about recovered now & getting out there again (bit rusty though!) :).

I'm Dawn, I live in Maidenhead and I work in Hughenden Valley, near High Wycombe (now famous for very dubious reasons) as a departmental secretary/pa for a timber engineering company. I'll have been dancing for 2 and a half years this month but been listening to swing, jazz, big band and blues since I was 14 - got into dancing through a couple of friends of mine who took me to a local dance night, some very lovely things came out of that and I've been doing it ever since. Other than dancing I like all sorts of music (I like to describe my music collection as "eclectic" but that might be a bit pretentious :wink: ), hanging out with my friends, watching movies, reading and raising sea monkeys :D

Anyways, have to go wash up.

I'm Dan, the Aussie one. When I started in London a couple of years ago there were two other Dans around, so I had to somehow distinguish myself from the other two to stop getting people confused.

I'm a bit of a dancing nut. In my spare time I work as a Software Designer for mobile phones.

I also sing (I've found it much more difficult than dancing!), play piano, guitar, write copy, attempt to improve my Mandarin, read novels, and somehow find time to hang out with my awesome mates.

Once I had some sea monkeys but they were caught up in a disastrous moving accident involving a dashboard, a suddenly-braking van and a wet lap.

If you're a follow with whom I've never danced, please please please ask me! :D

I'm Sarah, from Australia. I've been in London-town just over a year.

I'm originally from Perth in Western Australia but spent 3 years in Canberra (our nation's capital) before moving to London. During my time in Canberra I co-founded Jumptown (ACT Swing Dance Society). It started with 2 of us and has become a very successful little swing scene YAY.

I have dancing for far too long (not just lindy) but am quite into leading at the moment. So if you're looking for someone to dance with please come ask me.

I'm Chris... I live in Clapham Common and have always lived in London (except for a brief stint at Cambridge Uni). I've been dancing lindy hop for one and a half years now - so still have loads to learn! Took up lindy because I felt like doing some dancing in London and meet new people in the process - and I chose lindy because I love the music!
