How do I add an event or dance class to the calendar?

Anyone can add an event to the calendar but unless you've notified us that you are an Events Organiser the event will need to be moderated before it becomes visible to everyone else.

As a regular user, you will be able to edit or delete any event you have created.

1. To submit a new event you can either click on a "pencil" icon anywhere on the calendar:

or the "Submit" link when in the main calendar page:

2. Enter the Summary of the event. This is the information that will appear on the calendar so keep it as short as possible.

You can enter the calendar manually or click the calendar button to display a calendar to select a date from.

N.B.If the event goes until midnight, select "23:55" as the finish time, otherwise the event will appear across two days.

Complete the remaining information as required.

3. When filling in the description, you have the ability to add tables, colours, highlights, images and different fonts. The quickest way to create a catchy calendar event is to "select-and-paste" from an existing web page.

Images can be added from a website, via a URL or an image can be added to or selected from Swing Junction's image library with the image buttons

4. To set the recurring rules, be sure to select one of the recur options. For example, if you were to click on just "Tue" in the Weekly section without selecting "Weekly" as well, the event might not be saved as a recurring event.

Once the recur rules have been set, select a finish date. For ongoing events, select "No Ending Conditions."

5. When you have finished, click the "New Insert" button.

6. Until the event has been approved only you will see any evidence of it. There will be an entry in green and and it will read something like this: (1 items need to be admitted)

N.B.You can set up calendar notifications to be automatically notified of new events. Notifications can be sent to your email or Swing Junction mailbox.
