This year's Vegas exchange is going to be redonkulous (its a word, trust me)! We have all kinds of day events planned, including a rockband contest and a beerpong contest. The website has been updated, so check it out @ www.thevegasexchange.net. Also, back for its second year is the DJ Battle Royale! The DJ contest format will be head to head battling like "8 Mile." If youre interested, theres a dj form on the website to fill out. Also, if you dont want to compete but just dj for fun, let me know cause we may have a place for ya. Spread the word! I was listening to a song with a nice tune the other day when I caught the lyrics... The song has been ruined for me now!! However it got me wondering, what other sogs have dubious lyrics?

In one version of the song "And Her Tears Flowed like Wine" are the lyrics:

And when his wife said "Hey now!
What did you get for me?"
He socked her in the choppers
Such a sweet, sweet guy was he!

..And in "Sing Song Swing." Has this song reached its used by date or is it just a harmless parody?

Southern Counties:: Dancers and Models Required in Alton
It's Jane Austen week in Alton. This coming Saturday in the Market Square there's a fashion show through the ages from Regency Period to the present day, featuring fashion, music and dancing through the decades. If you would like to take part in the fashion show and/or dance please assemble in the square for 11am. The event is run by Alton council and my understanding is it runs between 11am and 3pm. If you would like to be part of the fashion show please bring along suitable period clothing, and don't forget your dance shoes. They want as many "cat-walkers" and "dancers" as possible to create a good atmosphere in the square.

It's less than 2 weeks until the start of camp! Dancers are coming from 30 states and 5 countries! If you have not yet registered there is still time to do so but that time is running out.

There are multiple registration options to choose from:

* Weekend, Friday-Sunday, June 27-29
+ Thursday night add-on, June 26
+ Sunday night add-on, June 29

* Extended Weekend, Friday-Monday, June 27-30
+ Thursday night add-on, June 26
+ Monday night add-on, June 30

* Week, Friday-Thursday, June 27-July 3

* Whole Shebang, Thursday-Thursday, June 26-July 3

Track 1 - close to even
Track 2 - needs LEADERS! (especially for the weekend!!)

Housing Availability
Single rooms are sold out in Woodside, Kennedy and Winthrop. There are still singles available in Bayview. There are a few double rooms available with AC in Kennedy and Manchester/Gloucester. Winthrop has a few spaces available but is just about filled. Bayview is the largest dorm and still has all choices of spaces available.

NELHC Competitions
For those planning to compete, it would be very helpful if you would submit your competition registrations now for all of the competitions (if you have not already done so). It will be possible to register at check-in, but the more we can get in advance, the easier it will be for us to prepare. Thanks!

Registration
If you are planning to attend and have not yet completed a registration, please do so now! The college campus provides us the perfect setting for summer camp, but we do not have the flexibility of being at a hotel venue. The college needs to plan in advance and does give us some registration restrictions.
