The Teachers :
Steven and Virginie
Steven and Virginie are known the world over for their extremely innovative style, improvisation and musicality. They have exceptional musicality and style and have a deep understanding of body control and movement. Constantly looking for new and creative ways to teach, their inspiring classes leave Lindy Hoppers everywhere hungry for more and excited about sharing the love of dance.
Scott Cupit
Scott is one of the driving forces of Swing Patrol and more than anything loves just being a dancer and dancing in front of live musicians. He also loves driving Swing Patrol and has been pivotal in supporting and guiding Swing Patrol Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney, Devonport & Launceston. Scott is now London based with his young team of seven and currently building Swing Patrol London.
Scott has a real passion for sharing the dance he loves. He thinks he has the best job in the world.
Annie Ryan:
A pleasure to watch..a pleasure to dance with..a pleasure to learn from.
Annie Ryan might be young but is a veteran of swing dancing. With a background in ballroom,
jazz, burlesque and broadway, Annie came over to the crazy side of Lindy Hop in 2003 and has been a bona fide addict ever since. Annie won the Australian Helzapoppin' Prize in 2003 which is considered the most prestigious swing dancing event in the land. Annie is a fun and thoughtful instructor, and a die-hard social dancer. She is known for her
explosive energy on the dance floor, her raw and fiery style and her natural musicality.
Ben and Helen Birns
Around 2000 in the heart of Melbourne, Australia Ben and Helen took their first Lindy Hop steps. Although they originally danced with different Lindy Hop schools their love of social dancing brought them together one memorable Sunday afternoon.
They have danced their way around the world through Japan, Sweden and England, and have finally come to rest in Edinburgh where they set up Zoot Swing in order to spread their love for the dance throughout Scotland.
